Free Satellite TV Programming For 10 Years!
The Dish Network wants to outdo the competition once and for
all. In a press release dated August 23, 2005, Echo Star Communications
announced that free satellite TV programming for 10 years is available to all
households in the first U.S. municipality willing to change its name legally and
permanently to "DISH." This is an opportunity for a whole town or city to

for 10 years while getting rid of cable
TV’s high prices and poor customer service.
In a town with 1000 households, the
Dish Network Satellite TV Service
would give away approximately $4 million worth of free programming for 10 years,
plus delivery and installation of the equipment.
A spokesman for the Dish Network said that in order for a municipality to be
eligible for 10 years of
free satellite TV services
and programming, the town government must agree to change the name legally and
permanently to “DISH” on government buildings, post offices, official
letterhead, schools and hospitals if applicable, street signs where necessary,
and any other government signage that contains the city or town's name. The
municipality must also file all necessary state and federal documentation.
Once documentation has been received and approved, the DISH Network will agree
to provide every household within the municipal limits a
free satellite TV receiver and
standard installation, and America's Top 60 programming package free for 10
years. The offer is subject to the terms and conditions of the company’s
residential service agreement and other terms negotiated.
Applications should be submitted to CityMakeover@dishnetwork.com for approval by
Nov.1, 2005.
