“HDTV Satellite TV is like being right there in the middle of the action,” one viewer said recently. “It’s so real that I caught myself ducking the bullets.” HDTV satellite TV is the latest development in an exciting new generation of TV viewing. The idea of this high definition TV was born when two concepts came together. The first was the understanding that moviegoers in the seats closest to the screen had a different experience than people in the back of the theater. The second was changes in the production process of film developing and editing. Moviegoers sitting closest to the screen feel more as if they are a part of the movie. This is because the screen image fills the person’s full field of vision, including peripheral vision, producing more sensory stimulation. This discovery led to changing the format of HDTV satellite TV from a more or less square format to a wide screen format, similar to what is used for movies in a theater. Not only is the picture format wider for HDTV satellite TV, but also the resolution is also much sharper. Scanning and projecting the TV image as a series of dots is how all TV and movie images are created. These dots are arranged in patterns of vertical and horizontal rows. There are a greater number of both vertical and horizontal rows of these dots in an HDTV image. There are also more dots per row, creating sharper images and crisp colors. This higher resolution means that more ‘information’ is contained in the broadcast signal and must be deciphered by the TV receiver. It is more information than standard TV sets are designed to receive. DirecTV and Dish Network HDTV satellite television service compresses all of this information into the broadband signal sent to the satellite and then back to earth. HDTV sets are designed to interpret this compressed signal. This technology will literally compel the replacement of 600 million TVs in the US alone. Within the next few years everyone will be enjoying a more realistic TV experience, including the need to duck imaginary bullets. Related Articles Is It Time To Get Satallite TV ? How a Satalite Dish
